Many folks do not realize that Line Dance evolved from our ancestors and is a combination of folk dancing and dancing styles from Britain. By 1940 it was all the rage in the big band era, and by 1990 became branded with Country Music. When you think of Line Dancing you think of boot scootin and cowboy hats. In this class we will dance to fun and energetic songs both country and non-country. Variety is the spice of life! This class will be a beginner/intermediate class. We will begin at the beginning and work towards intermediate levels. Students will learn all types of dance steps and we will even learn steps and routines to Latin music. We will Mambo, Cha Cha and Merengue. Learning routines can help the mind stay sharp and at the same time is great exercise! This class is a progressive dance class learning basic fundamentals and moving into more intricate techniques, rhythms and fun. Registration is required.
